The Reading League Chapter Network is excited to bring you a flexible, collaborative learning opportunity this summer! Join educators from across the country for our 3rd Annual Summer Book Study as we explore what the science of reading tells us about supporting older students’ literacy growth.
This year, we’ll dive into Reading Isn’t Optional: Fulfilling the Promise of Literacy for Secondary Students, a powerful collection of insights on adolescent literacy that will help you better understand and support students in grades 4–12.

- Purchase your copy of Reading Isn’t Optional (you’ll receive a discount code after registering).
- Participate on your own time—read, reflect, and engage when it works best for you.
- Join live sessions or watch recordings afterward. Certificate of attendance only offered at live events. Participants can earn up to six free CEU credits by participating in all four live events.
- Invite a colleague or friend to learn alongside you.

- Curated resources to deepen your understanding
